Jay R. Cooper
Principal, Red Dog Advisors, LLC
Jay Cooper is the Principal of Red Dog Advisors and a proven leader in sports and entertainment venue development and operations. He brings more than 35 years of experience managing the growth, performance, and operations of some of the world’s most successful indoor and outdoor sports and entertainment facilities.
Throughout his career, Jay has overseen venues that have presented more than 2,500 events across 8 countries, consistently exceeding guest expectations while driving strong operational and financial results.
Background & Education
Jay holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Iowa’s Tippie College of Business and a Master of Arts in Sports Administration from Wayne State University.
Jay began his career putting on events at Carver Hawkeye Arena and Hancher Auditorium on the University of Iowa campus. That experience led him to be involved in the management and planning of venues hosting NHL, NBA, MLS, FIFA, Olympics and FIBA events.
Experience That Informs Our Perspective
Jay most recently served as General Manager of T-Mobile Center in Kansas City, Missouri, where he oversaw all aspects of venue operations, including revenue growth, financial oversight, event booking, and facility operations. The 19,246-seat arena has hosted more than 16 million guests and is widely recognized for its role in transforming downtown Kansas City.
Previously, Jay served as Senior Vice President and Managing Director of Global Solutions, a wholly owned division of AEG, where he led planning, development, and operational consulting efforts for sports and entertainment facilities around the world.
